Nyhedsbrev Uge 13 – Giv lyd Danmark – arrangement den 23. april

Den digitale udvikling inden for lydteknologi har i dag gjort det muligt at producere lyd af hidtil uset høj kvalitet. Men alligevel står vi i en situation, hvor kun de færreste forbrugere får glæde af den dynamiske digitale lyd, som det er muligt at producere. Hvad skal der til for at gøre den digitale lyd – og oplevelsen af den – bedre? Hvad er god lyd? Og har Danmark ekspertisen til at løfte digital lyd til verdensklasseniveau?

Sæt kryds i kalenderen ud for den 23. april og vær med, når lyd- og musikbranchen, kunstnere og forskere i fællesskab giver deres bud på, hvordan Danmark indtager førerpositionen inden for digital lyd. Arrangementet afholdes på Aalborg Universitet i København og er arrangeret af IDA Teleteknisk Selskab i samarbejde med CMI, Innovationsnetværket Dansk Lyd og Gramex. Dansk Lyd og Accelerace har indgået et samarbejde, der har til hensigt at finde de bedste danske lyd-startups og få dem til at accelerere.

Accelerace er Skandinaviens største acceleratorprogram, som arbejder med de mest lovende danske og internationale iværksættere, vækst- og spin-off virksomheder. Over et 5-måneders intensivt forretningsudviklingsforløb hjælper Accelerace virksomheden til vækst gennem tilførsel af konsulenter, træning, netværk og kapital. Årligt optages 60 danske og internationale virksomheder indenfor IT, life science og industri. Siden 2008 har Accelerace spottet, trænet og investeret i mere end 200 virksomheder, hvoraf 94 % stadig er på markedet i dag. Accelerace har seks kontorer i Danmark.

VIP event med kinesiske og danske virksomheder

I forbindelse med Danmarks VM-værtskab i badminton til august, arrangerer Ballerup Kommune og Væksthus Hovedstaden et VIP event med kinesiske og danske virksomheder. Arrangementet vil bl.a. have fokus på danske virksomheder, der forsøger at komme ind på det kinesiske marked og som ønsker at finde samarbejdspartnere og investeringskapital. Amerikanske ingeniører har konstrueret verdens første akustiske 'usynlighedskappe'

Ingeniører fra Duke University i North Carolina har fremstillet en tredimensionel pyramide lavet af såkaldte ’metamaterialer’, der kan skjule objekter fra et lydbillede i alle retninger. European Investor Gate Competition

The EIG Competition is open for researchers, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and first-time entrepreneurs in ICT sectors. EIG supports participants in developing compelling business strategies and to find the right investment partners.

 

DTU PoC Fund

DTU PoC Fund provides financing for DTU innovation projects through reduction of commercial as well as technical risks, e.g. for development of prototypes, scalability demonstration and the like. For a DTU researcher to be eligible for DTU PoC Fund financing, it is an ultimate requirement that positive expression of interest from a commercial partner, customer or investor can be demonstrated. Novel sound reduction technologies for application to glass partitioning
An Irish company specializing in the design and manufacture of workspace partitioning is seeking novel and innovative technologies that provide sound attenuation, sound reduction or cancellation solutions that could be applicable to their area of operation. The company seek solutions already on the market or at earlier stages of development. They would, for example, be interested in partnering with research groups with early stage concepts under a suitable mutually beneficial agreement.

 

IT platform for music education by interactive synchronized digital contents
An Italian university team developed an advanced platform for interacting with musical contents and related media. The new platform allows synchronized combination of audio, visual, and written music information; it represents a new powerful tool for music education. The team is looking for technological cooperation agreements with industrial partners aiming at joint development of specific applications in music education based on the new platform.

Interactive audioguide with intelligent labels
An Italian company has developed interactive audioguides that allow users interact with the environment through intelligent labels. Guides may be applied to museums or parks and would be available to user's mobile phone. The company is interested in commercial agreements with technical assistance or joint developments of the product.

Novel assisted living personal monitoring and alert system for elderly or lone workers
A UK based SME has developed a highly sophisticated personal mobile monitoring system which integrates verbal interaction, biometric data monitoring, artificial intelligence, GPS and mobile communications technology. The company is seeking partners to commercialise this assisted living product in the form of license agreements, technical cooperation, joint venture agreements or financial agreements.

In connection with Denmark's role as hosts for the World Cup in badminton, Vaeksthus Copenhagen and the municipality of Ballerup will arrange a VIP event for Chinese and Danish companies in August 2014. The event will pay special attention to Danish companies trying to enter the Chinese market or looking for Chinese partners and investment capital. American engineers have created the world's first acoustic 'invisibility cloak'

Engineers from Duke University in North Carolina have created a three-dimensional pyramid made of so-called 'metamaterial' capable of hiding objects from sound emitted from any angle. The pyramid shape of the cloak and the material cause sound waves to follow their natural course, as if there was a flat surface with no object.
