Nyhedsbrev Uge 17 – Husk tilmelding til Martha de Francisco events

Medlemmer af Dansk Lyd har en unik mulighed for at møde en af verdens mest velestimerede producere inden for klassisk musik, når Martha de Francisco besøger Det Kongelige Danske Musikkonservatorium den 5. maj og giver to foredrag:

13.00 - 14.30: Music production in the flow of technological evolution
15.00 - 16.30: Critical listening and analyzing of musical recordings

Der vil blive serveret kaffe og kage i løbet af eftermiddagen.

Tilmelding til arrangementet sker ved at sende en mail til Rebecca Engberg, reen@dtu.dk senest den 29. april. I mailen skal der stå både navn, organisation og CVR (ikke påkrævet for deltagelse) samt anføres om man kommer til begge foredrag.

Netværkets medlemmer har desuden mulighed for at overvære 10 producer sessions a’ 2 timer, hvor Martha arbejder med studerende om konkrete musikproduktions-opgaver. Til hver session kan der være to deltagere fra netværket til stede. De 10 produktionssessioner foregår lørdag den 3. maj og søndag den 4. maj. De nøjagtige tidspunkter ligger ikke fast endnu, men interesserede kan sende en mail til reen@dtu.dk senest den 29. april med ønske om foretrukne dato/tidsrum (ml. 9:00-16:00).

Kom til seminar om Constellation af John Pellowe den 2. maj i Silkeborg

Stouenborg, Jyske Bank og Meyer Sound afholder den 2. maj et seminar med John Pellowe om bl.a. Constellation systemet fra Meyer Sound. John har udover sit mangeårige arbejde med Constellation været en toneangivende lydmand i den klassiske musikverden. Han har mere end 200 klassiske albums bag sig og har også været lyddesigner for Luciano Pavarotti og de tre tenorer til deres koncerter i hele verden.

Lydens Hus – ny vækstfabrik for lyd i København

Dansk Lyd er gået med i partnerkredsen bag initiativet Lydens Hus, som vil videreføre Vækstfabrikkernes gennemprøvede model for talent- og vækstudvikling i hovedstaden med fokus på lyd.

Væksthus Hovedstadsregionen, Vækstfabrikkerne (Væksthus Sjælland) og Gramex, som varetager kunstnernes interesser, står bag Lydens Hus, som har modtaget en millionbevilling fra Københavns Kommune til at sparke initiativet i gang.

Ideen er at samle iværksættere og virksomheder, der beskæftiger sig med forretnings- og produktudvikling inden for lyd. Der vil være 50 arbejdsstationer samt lydlaboratorium og lydstudie i det moderne kontorfællesskab beliggende centralt i København. Brugerne kan være musikere, spil- og animationsudviklere, designere, teknikere og ingeniører og alt ind i mellem. Lydens Hus skal åbne senere i år, så snart de rette lokaliteter er fundet.

Visualisering af støj i åbne kontormiljøer

Jabra, SoundEar og DELTA har i fællesskab udviklet et system, der kan visualisere støj i åbne kontormiljøer i realtid. Formålet med systemet er at hjælpe medarbejderne til at ændre adfærd og derved forbedre arbejdsmiljøet. Det nye visualiseringssystem kombinerer målinger fra flere lydmålere i realtid med software, der genererer et dynamisk støjkort over de aktuelle støjforhold. Projektet, der gennemførte en lovende prototype-test i en større finansiel virksomhed i efteråret 2013, blev finansieret af Innovationsnetværket InfinIT, Jabra og SoundEar.

Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs - Partner search in the field of ‘online jam sessions’
Sofasession is an Austrian startup company that creates an online service for hobby musicians for meeting other musicians over the internet and perform jam sessions over the internet, without the need to meet in person. You just need to connect your instrument or microphone to your computer, browse to www.sofasession.com and you will be able to find other people that are online and you can setup jam or rehearsal sessions with them. The service is in a closed beta version at the moment and will launch public within the next few months.

The company has knowledge in the fields of audio streaming technologies and DSP, contact to Austrian research institutes and subsidy programs and knowledge of business development and corporate finance. It is looking for technology partners (hard- and/or software wise), hardware producers of instruments or audio equipment, potential distribution partners and generally for contacts within the industry.

Sofasession has secured funding from the European exchange program Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs and is looking for cooperation partners willing to work with Helmut Herglotz (CEO) for 1-3 month in Denmark.

A Swedish university spin-off company active in agile software development to a global market, specializing in media asset management (MAM), open source solutions, and interaction design is now looking for video analysis technologies that can be included in their MAM-tools with existing metadata extraction battery. Technical and commercial cooperation with academia and/or companies in the ICT (Information and Communication Technology) industry is sought.

Newsletter week 17 – Remember to register for the Martha de Francisco events

Members of Danish Sound have a unique opportunity to meet one of the world’s most well renowned producers within classical musical when Martha de Francisco visits Copenhagen. On Monday the 5th of May Martha will give two lectures at The Royal Danish Academy of Music, Rosenørns Allé 22, 1970 Frederiksberg C:

13.00 - 14.30: Music production in the flow of technological evolution
15.00 - 16.30: Critical listening and analyzing of musical recordings

Coffee and cake will be served through the afternoon.

Register for the event no later than the 29th of April by emailing Rebecca Engberg, reen@dtu.dk. Please write your name, organization and CVR number (not required) and indicate whether you will be attending both lectures.

Additionally, members of Danish Sound have the opportunity to attend ten producer sessions of two hours each, where Martha will be working with students in concrete music production projects. At each session only two can attend. The producer sessions take place Saturday the 3rd of May and Sunday the 4th of May. The exact times are not yet determined. However, if you are interested please email Rebecca Engberg, reen@dtu.dk (deadline 29th of April) and indicate the preferred date and time of day (9:00-16:00).

Attend seminar on Constellation by John Pellowe May 2nd in Silkeborg

Stouenborg, Jyske Bank and Meyer Sound host a seminar with John Pellowe on May 2nd about the Constellation system from Meyer Sound. Besides John’s long work history with Constellation he has been a trendsetting sound designer in the world of classical musical. He has more than 200 classical albums on his resume and has been designing sound for Luciano Pavarotti and the three tenors on their tours.

“House of Sound” – a new growth factory in Copenhagen

Danish Sound has entered the partner circle behind the initiative “House of Sound”, which will continue Vækstfabrikkernes proven model for talent and growth development in Copenhagen – this time focused on sound.

Vaeksthus Copenhagen, Vaeksthus Zealand (Vækstfabrikkerne) and Gramex, who manages the financial rights of performing artists and record companies, are the originators behind “House of Sound”, which has furthermore received a one million DKK grant from the City of Copenhagen to ignite the initiative.

The idea is to gather entrepreneurs and companies dealing with business- and product development within the field of sound. The shared office space will offer 50 work stations as well as a sound laboratory and studio in central Copenhagen. Users can be musicians, game- and animation developers, designers, technicians and engineers and everything in between. “House of Sound” are to open later this year, as soon as the right facilities has been located.

Visualization of noise in open office environments

Jabra, SoundEar and DELTA have collaborated on developing a system that can visualize noise in open office environments in real time. The purpose of the system is to help employees change their behavior and thereby improve the working environment. The new visualization system combines measurements from several noise meters in real time with software that generates a dynamic noise map showing the current noise ratio. A promising prototype testing was conducted in a large financial company in the autumn of 2013. The project was funded by the Innovation Network InfinIT, Jabra and SoundEar.
