SoundEar fast inventar i tysk medicoteknologi

New automated software to improve audio during television broadcasts
A North West UK University has developed software that enables key sounds contained within live sport broadcast feeds (e.g. the kicking of a football or the referee’s whistle) to be identified, extracted and spatially located on the pitch. This new development has the advantage of increasing the immersion of a spectator. The developers offer a unique opportunity to be involved in the project in a commercial with technical assistance partnership with exclusive licensing rights.

Autonomous and underwater electronic wall to repulse sharks and protect swimmers
A French SME specialized in signal processing, electronics and solar photovoltaic systems is offering an ecological wall solution to protect beach areas from shark attacks and enable people to safely swim and surf. The wall generates repulsive underwater acoustic waves and a dazzling optronic beam that done flee the sharks. It can cover continuously (24/7) a beach zone of 300m at the minimum. It is solar-powered and reliable. The SME is seeking Commercial agreements with Technical assistance.

Unique software for perfect voice conversion enabling to customize any audio application
A start-up company from Germany has developed a unique innovative software for voice conversion. The software solution converts a source voice into a target voice, needing only two audio samples. It can be used to customize games, movies, songs, audio books etc. with an individually selected voice, sounding absolutely natural. The company is interested in finding clients, investors, subcontractors and research partners.

Successful test of music in ambulances

During the last year two ambulances have been part of a research project targeted heart patients in The North Denmark Region. The stressful, and at times terrifying, sound environment that occurs in an ambulance with sirens running at full capacity, often causes further harm to the patient’s wellbeing, particularly heart patients. The soothing effects of music can therefore be vital in terms of keeping the patient calm in the event of e.g. an embolism.

"We know that music has an effect in relation to the respiratory frequency. It lowers stress levels and improves the patient’s ability to cope with the fear and anxiety that the situation provokes." - says Dr. Per Thorgaard from Aalborg University Hospital to Politiken. Read more about the project results where 72 out of a hundred patients preferred listening to music in the article from February 17 ”Hjertepatienter er glade for at høre musik i ambulancen” (Danish).
